MUSIC COMPOSITION

Chamber & Orchestral Work
Should you wish to commission a chamber or orchestral work or perform an existing work, please inquire.  Jeremy Franklin Goodman has a diverse repertoire and is skillful in many genres.  Collaborative pieces such as ballets are also welcome.

Commercial & Film Work
Do you need a score for an original film, documentary or commercial?  With his master’s degree in film scoring, Goodman is available to write music for film and TV or compose jingles for any kind type of commercial multimedia.  If live musicians must be recorded, he can arrange, supervise as well as perform for the recording.

ARRANGING & ORCHESTRATION FOR SYMPHONY & CHAMBER ORCHESTRAS

Themed Pops Concerts & Holiday Pops Concerts
Are you a conductor wanting a specific medley to be arranged and orchestrated for your orchestra or ensemble for a themed or holiday pops concert?  Can you not find an arrangement that is in print or one that is most appropriate for your program?  Do you have a specific vision for an arrangement and need help executing it accordingly?  Goodman is very experienced and has a creative flair in all areas of arranging and orchestration.

Reductions
Do you have a piece of music written for an ensemble of 20 but only have 14 musicians in your group?  You have considered omitting parts, but that would leave drastically large holes in the arrangement ultimately causing it to sound awkward.  From a score, Jeremy Franklin Goodman can create a reduction removing these holes by simply omitting parts, selecting the important voices and harmonies and creating new pieces to maintain the song’s original integrity.

Out of Print Restoration & Transcription
Is there a particular arrangement of a song that you wish to perform but it is no longer in print?  From a recording, Goodman is able to transcribe and recreate the arrangement in question so your original concert program can go unadjusted.

Out of Print or Lost Materials
Are you a conductor with a score for a piece or film score cue that is no longer in print and cannot find the parts?  Or do you have the parts of a score that is no longer available for purchase?  Jeremy Franklin Goodman is able to recreate the missing parts from the original score or the score from individual parts allowing you to continue performing the works in your library.  Goodman provides this service most frequently for conductors needing to perform film cues where all on hand is a conductor’s score.

ARRANGING & ORCHESTRATION FOR MUSICAL THEATRE

New Original Musicals
Have you written a new musical but need help fleshing out the accompaniments and arrangements in order to elevate the score to the next level?  Are you thinking you may want to have a full vocal ensemble backing up your featured singer, but do not know how to proceed?  Do you want the score to be orchestrated for a full band?  Goodman is highly competent and experienced in handling this work.

Musical Theatre Orchestration Reduction
Are you a musical theatre company that has licensed and is putting on a production of a Broadway show?  Does the original orchestration call for a larger orchestra pit but you only have a budget to hire half the musicians required?  Goodman can help create an orchestral reduction that makes the orchestra sound full while preserving the integrity of the score’s original sound.

Cabarets
Are you performing a club act and want to sing various songs in a completely different style from the way in which they were written?  Do you want to have a song re-arranged so that it is customized for you to show off your vocal abilities?  Are you putting on a cabaret show and wish to be accompanied by a band but only have a piano-vocal part and need orchestrations?  Jeremy Franklin Goodman is able to help you with all of these tasks.

MUSICAL DIRECTION, SUPERVISION & CONDUCTING

Music Direction
Is your theatre company performing a musical and in need of a music director to play rehearsals, help teach vocal parts, prepare orchestra parts, rehearse, play piano and/or conduct the shows?  You are in luck as Jeremy Franklin Goodman has played more than 20 musicals and can assist you with all of these phases in mounting a musical.    

Have you written a new musical and need music copying services, orchestration and arranging services?  Do you need someone to help rehearse, conduct and supervise the recording and mixing of a demo cast or an official cast recording?  Goodman has been through this process for shows in various developmental stages as well as those that are licensed by professional theatre licensing houses.

Conducting
Does your ensemble or orchestra need a conductor for a concert?  Are recording a session for a film score or musical and need a conductor?  Is your theatre company performing a musical and you need a conductor for the orchestra pit?  Goodman is experienced and capable of guiding all types of musicians in different settings through all genres of music.

MUSIC COPYING & ENGRAVING

Engraving of Handwritten Scores or Other Rough Demo & Draft Formats
Are you a composer or arranger who only writes music by hand with pen and paper?  If so, you will need to have your music copied professionally prior to any recording or performance; Jeremy Franklin Goodman can assist.

Have you recorded a demo and have midi data in a program such as Logic but need everything to be translated into sheet music?  Do you have a rough score that you need proofread and transformed into a clean score with a more professional layout?  Goodman provides music copying services required in order for your musicians to have clean, legible scores that are at a quality acceptable for commercial publishing.        

Audition Cuts
Do you have an audition coming up and need a 16 or 32 bar cut of a song but do not want to hand the pianist a jigsaw puzzle?  Apart from forgetting the song altogether, the greatest mistake one can make is to walk into an audition with inaccurate sheet music, whether it is in the wrong key or it does not match what you will singing.  Goodman can help you create clean sheet music that is in the right key and matches the road map of your audition so that it is easy for the pianist to follow, ultimately allowing for a more successful audition.

Transpositions
Is there a song that you wish to sing but it is in the wrong key for your voice?  Jeremy Franklin Goodman can transpose the song for you so it is in the right key for both you and your piano accompanist.

Are you putting together a musical and need to transpose all of the rented orchestra parts for a particular song?  Many times the licensing companies will offer this service at higher fees and take many weeks to deliver you the parts - which is time that you may not have!  Goodman can transpose the parts for you so your orchestra and singer are singing and playing in the appropriate and same key and deliver them within a 24-48 hour time period.

Transcription
If you have a recording of a song you would like to perform but cannot find any sheet music that matches the recording, Jeremy Franklin Goodman can transcribe the piece for you and create the sheet music you need for such a performance to take place.

PIANO ACCOMPANIST

Accompanist, Performance & Recording
Are you a singer who is learning new material and in need of a pianist to rehearse with and help teach you your music?  Are you a singer or instrumentalist who is performing a recital, or cabaret and in need of a piano accompanist?  Are you an ensemble or band that needs a pianist for gigs?  Are you putting on a musical and need a pianist or keyboard player in your orchestra?  Are you recording a session and wish to have a piano part in the studio?  With over 15 years experience, Jeremy Franklin Goodman is more than able to assist with your every need.

Backing Tracks/Rehearsal Tracks
Do you have an audition and need a recording of the accompaniment for rehearsing?  Are you performing a show and need accompaniment tracks created?  Do you have accompaniment tracks but need assistance with learning the vocal part and want it recorded so it is dubbed and incorporated into the same file?  Goodman has tremendous experience and can help you.

MUSIC TECHNOLOGY

Jeremy Franklin Goodman uses an assortment of musical software and programs.  He has tremendous experience with Finale as he has worked with the software a daily basis for over 15 years.  Other technologies with which Goodman has extensive experience include Logic Pro, ProTools, Transcribe!, MainStage and own an assortment of EastWest virtual sample libraries.

Demos
Are you writing a song, chamber work, orchestral piece, film score or any works needing a demo recording?  With your score, midi files and virtual instrument samples created from live instruments, Goodman can help you create this recording that can be presented to performers, conductors, directors or producers.  They will be able to have a more realistic idea and appreciation of what your musical creations will sound like when instrumentalists are playing your work.  Virtual sample libraries can also be mixed with recordings of real instrumentalists playing your music to help sweeten and enhance the overall quality of the recording.

Mixing Live or Studio Recordings
If you have already recorded songs, film scores or instrumental music of any kind and need assistance with mixing the raw audio files, Goodman can help with this process.  Studio time can be very expensive and it may be extremely costly.  Often if you are pressured for time, studios will not provide your work the careful attention that is required.  Depending on the studio space which you use and the recording engineers with whom you work, they may not understand or know how to focus on the musical detail and nuances within your piece.  For instance, people familiar with recording rock bands may not know how to work with all of the intricacies of an orchestral piece or a musical theatre song.  Not to worry, Goodman is incredibly thorough, experienced and understands how to mix your work so that each musical component — ranging from your vocal soloist, all the way to a viola and cello duet — receives the attention that it deserves and maintains its original musical integrity.
